Y A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SIDE TABLE OR CHAMBER TABLE IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS CHIPPENDALE, CIRCA 1770 71cm high, 84cm wide, 52cm deep Three closely related 'Chamber' tables were supplied by Thomas Chippendale to Ninian Home for Paxton House, Berwickshire between 1774 and 1791. Home commissioned Chippendale, Haig and Co. to decorate and furnish his home 'in a neat but not expensive manner'. Thomas Chippendale and his prestigious firm furnished the house with a wide variety of exquisitely made furniture at a time when he and his son were at the height of their success. The Chippendale firm undertook a complete interior design scheme for the Dining Room and Drawing Room.
