Two Chinese blue and white with red underglaze porcelain snuff bottles dating from the 19th century. One bottle depicts horses. The other, larger bottle depicts three figures speaking about a dragon outside of a city gate. The bottom of this snuff bottle has a flower and a bird. Dimensions are: the larger bottle measures 3 1/2 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 8.9 cm X 3.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The bottle with the horses has a chip to the foot. The other bottle is in good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Pitts in Southern Virginia. The piece was collected over 30 years ago.
