Ross MacFadden, Toronto Note: Prominent Toronto businessman, avid art connoisseur and collector, William Albert (Ross) MacFadden, often visited Waddington's auction previews. Mr. MacFadden's love of Venice led him to acquire this charming Venetian scene by Wingfield. Mr. MacFadden also appreciated the work's detailed architectural rendering, its storytelling quality and the elegant figures which were all painted with precision. The Cooling Gallery provenance and the frame in which the painting is contained are also noteworthy and add to its overall appeal.
