A Victorian Black Lacquered Papier-mâché Work Table. The hinged oblong with moulded serpentine edge painted with a bouquet of flowers to the centre, inlaid with mother-of-pearl and enriched with scrolling gilt embellishments, The interior fitted with various lidded compartments surrounding a central fabric well, lined in pretty printed paper. The shaped rectangular pedestal decorated with intricate gilt scrollwork leading down to a quadriform base on scroll feet, 29¼" (74 cm) high, 24" (61 cm) wide, 15" (38 cm) deep.
