AN INSCRIBED JADE SEAL 18th/19th century Modelled as a lion-dog on all fours upon a rectangular plinth, inscribed to the seal face, 合人登寿域, 春意满壶天, translating as 'wishing for longevity and prosperity'. 3.7cm (1 1/2in) high 注脚 Provenance: A Scottish private collection. Acquired by one of the current owner's ancestors employed by the East India Company and British Army in India between 1775 and 1880.
