A very rare iron-red decorated sgraffito "dragon"-cup with Qianlong markTea cup finely decorated with two iron-red five-headed dragons above foaming waves on a white-enamelled sgraffito ground incised with waves. The rim is gold-decorated. With Qianlong six character mark in iron red within double squares on the bottom. Intact. No chips, no cracks! Height 4.9 cm. A similar cup, also lacking a saucer, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated in Gutao Ciziliao Xuancui, Beijing, 2005, p. 255, no. 225.
