She extends her right hand through her curls to her left shoulder, the long towel in her left covering her naked body and a part of the intricately crafted tortoise. Gilt oval base. Height 24 cm. Made by a French master after Antoine Coysevox. The original marble Venus is exhibited in the Louvre (MR 1826).Antoine Coysevox (1640 - 1720) was one of the most significant French sculptors of the high Baroque.
