An Egyptian Bastet bronze, Late Period, 7th - 4th century B.C. Finely proportioned, naturalistically depicted, seated figure of the goddess Bastet in the form of a cat with her forepaws together, her tail curving forward around the proper right side and extending just beyond the forepaws, the head with erect ears. Fully cast figure on a hollow bronze basis. Fixed to a wooden stand. Beautiful patina. Traces of age. Intact. Height 10 cm (with spikes 12 cm). Provenance: From a Rhenish private collection.Condition: II -
