An early Iranian horse appliqué, 2nd millennium B.C.Stylised flat horse figure. The mane, tail and legs are each decorated with a row of bronze beads. A small bird figure on each ear. Both eyes in the form of raised circles filled with light mass. On the outside of the body two more raised white filled circles. On the inside flat eyelet, possibly a strap pull-through. An interpretation of this unique piece as a horse harness pendant can be suggested. Intact. Beautiful patina. Length 10.5 cm. Height 11 cm. Provenance: Private collection Rhineland-Palantine, inherited from his father.Condition: II
