An early Achaemenid silver bowl, 5th century B.C.High quality silver bowl. The lower half of the outer wall with three rows of nub decoration. In this area the base with remnants of gilding. Above this, fine Aramaic hallmark inscription all around the stepped neck. Slight denting on the underside. Two short cracks (approx. 1.5 cm) in the area of the neck. Very beautiful example of Achaemenid silversmithing and table culture! Diameter 13.5 cm. Height 7 cm. Weight 397 g. Provenance: Private collection in Rhineland-Palantine, passed on from the father.Condition: II -
