AN EXTREMELY FINE SILK CHINESE PRAYER RUGThe light soft beige field with stylised flowering vase and leafy vine and perching birds. Single column at each side supporting an aqua blue floral mihrab above, in flowering vine and birds border, between multiple floral, zig-zag, hookes vine and plain stripes, approx. 91cm x 61cm. This rug has very good pile with soft silk quality. Both salvages and ends original. Very nicely drawn design and good colours. Extremely fine weave, approx 10x10 knots per sq/cm. In general, this rug is in very good usable condition.
