A group of three knapped handaxes formed on cobbles; in orange-brown chert; with old numbered collector labels and explanatory note. 1.8 kg total, 12.7-14.2cm (5 - 5 1/2"). Ex Dr. M. G. Weller collection; acquired by exchange with a Spanish museum; from River Guadalqueviae river terraces. These handaxes are among the earliest of human-made stone implements.
