Attributed to the workshop of Hayashi Kodenji (1831-1915), unsignedJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912)The slender ovoid body rising from a spreading foot to a tall waisted neck, applied with silver rims, worked in silver wire and bright enamels against a midnight-blue ground with two quails, one standing and the other in flight, amid colorful chrysanthemums borne on leafy vines, with a pendent floral diaper band below the rim and a band of scroll between ring bands above the foot.HEIGHT 25.5 cmCondition: Excellent condition with minor wear, the silver base with more extensive surface wear.
