A pair of Chinese famille rose lamps dating from the Republic period. Each lamp consists of a stand and a globe cover. The white-ground stands and the globes are decorated with scenes of children at play. The stands are attached to wooden bases. Dimensions are: each lamp measures 13 1/2 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 34.3 cm X 19.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The cups of both stands have been drilled, and there is chipping around the drill holes. One globe has significant cracking including a small star crack to the interior and a chip to the large cracks which are visible on the exterior. The other globe has significant, severe, widespread breakage and repair, including one star crack to the interior and a crack to the rim. This globe also has chipping to the bottom rim.
