A Chinese Famille Noire Vase Of baluster form, the tall sides rising from a flat circular base to a wide shoulder, set with a tall trumpet neck, decorated in famille noire enamels, the body painted with a continuous scene of warriors on horseback, some holding weapons, some bearing flags, surrounded by rockwork and with mountains in the distance, the neck painted with a scene of figures around a games board, all reserved on a dense black ground, the glazed base with an apocryphal six-character mark of Kangxi within a double circle in underglaze blue.
