A Chinese celadon-glazed slip-decorated bottle vase, Qianlong seal mark and period (1736-95), decorated in white slip with bats amid clouds, 37.5 cm high.Provenance - from a deceased estate in S.W. Sotheby's, New York, Chinese Works of Art sale, 19 March 2013, lot 198 for a vase with identical decoration, Dimensions Formerly mounted as a lamp with drilled hole through the seal mark and base. Condition Report The vase was mounted as a lamp with a drilled hole through the reign mark underneath. The lamp fitting has now been removed by Gorringes. There is occasional minor scuffing and scratching to the exterior of the vase and some scuffing to the glazed rim where the metal fitting was once attached.
