A late 19th century French gilt and silvered bronze desk barometer / timepiece, modelled with nautical motifs; a ship's wheel, cable pulley, anchor and capstan, on a rouge marble plinth and ormolu base, Dimensions width 26cm depth 11.5cm height 17cm Condition Report Overall in honest condition with two of the spigots to the wheel around the dial are missing, chain on the drums behind it is loose, both of the central rings move as does the ratchet mechanism, looks like at some point there was some mechanical functionality, barometer dial later inscribed Made in France at the bottom, iron anchor oxidised with the thermometer dial also rubbed, compass set to the small capstan wheel working, minor discoluration and pitting to the plinth.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place.
