窑变釉是雍正时仿钧窑釉色繁衍出的新品种，其斑斓的色彩本为仿钧釉失败而出现的非预期窑变现象，但匠师善于取势，巧用化丑为美的艺术手法，对釉料配方、窑火加以控制，最终创烧成功，此后历朝皆有烧制。
此贯耳瓶为长方直口四角形，口沿处折成倭角，并延至肩部；瓶颈左右两侧各置有管形竖耳，故名“贯耳瓶”；瓶腹外扩成弧形，腹下部内敛，底为长方形高圈足。通体施窑变釉，红蓝相间，色彩斑斓，腹部饰桃形凸纹，器物口、耳、棱角等处因釉汁流淌，呈现特有的月白色。釉汁肥厚斑斓，交织相融，灿若晚霞。器型端庄大气，雍容典雅，具有乾隆时期窑变釉的典型特征。
