A famille rose Mille-fleurs vase with deer head handles, Ca. 1900-30, Late Qing or early Republic period, China, Decorated with a dense allover pattern of flowers and foliage on a gilded background. Marked in iron red with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark within a white square over a turquoise ground. H 32.5 cm, A large old discoloured crack in the base running up somewhat on the sides. No other damage or restoration. Slight wear of the gilding.
