作者简介：周谷城（1898-1996），湖南益阳人。中国著名历史学家、教育家、社会活动家，曾任全国人大常委会副委员长，中国史学会常务理事兼首任执行主席、中国太平洋历史学会会长、上海市哲学社会科学联合会副主席、上海市历史学会会长等。
