21st-20th century BC. A socketted bronze spearhead with a pointed biconvex blade of thick rhomboid section and strong midrib. See Gernez, G., Larmament en métal au Proche et Moyen-Orient: des origines a 1750 av. J.C., Paris, 2007, fig.2.105, pl.427, for the type. 150 grams, 17.5cm (7"). Ex Abelita family collection, 1980-2015. This spearhead is classified as subtype L 5.B.c of the middle long spearhead by Gernez. This typology of spears are essentially known from the East Arabian Peninsula (Jebel Hafit, Samad al Shan"). Vario spearheads were found in the temple area at Barbar (Bahrain"). One specimen was also found in Tepe Hissar (Tepe Hissar IIIC period).
