A bedwarmerprising: bronze pan with ledge to the shoulder and rolled rim, hinged lid with lifting loop, raised central panel with ten vents and band of punched rosettes surrounding a larger central rosette; substantial socket with reinforcing tab; varnished wooden handle with knop finial. 2.1 kg, 134cm long (52 3/4"). Collection formed in the 2000s. Property of an English gentleman. The pan featured a hinged lid so that it could be easily and safely filled with hot coals. The pan would then be carried to the bedroom and placed between the sheets, ing the handle to move it gently back and forth to warm the occupant of the bed. [No Reserve]
