A PAIR OF BRONZE RITUAL VESSELS AND COVER, DOU, EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY China, 6^th-5^th century BC. The deep rounded body supported by a stem and flared foot, flanked by two loop handles on the sides, and decorated with two narrow bands of intertwined ropes, repeated once on the domed cover, the central flaring knob neatly cast with a scroll band. (2)

Provenance: French trade, by repute from an old private estate in Paris. One of the two vessels contains an old handwritten card from a Monsieur Henri Gorins, inscribed in French with an expression of gratitude and appreciation to an unknown person.
Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age. The feet and one cover with old repairs, the same cover further with a crack to the lower rim and another to the knob. Small losses, minor nicks and dents, light scratches. Fine, naturally grown patina with malachite and cuprite encrustation. Remnants of soil encrustations to the inside of the vessels and feet.

品相：狀況良好，與年齡相稱。 腳和一個蓋有過修復，同一個蓋在下邊緣有裂縫，另一個在旋鈕上。小缺損、輕微的劃痕和凹痕。包漿自然細膩，帶有孔雀石綠和赤銅礦色結殼。有土壤結痂殘留在容器和足部內部。
