尚 扬 1942年生于湖北，祖籍四川。1965年毕业于湖北艺术学院，1981年油画硕士研究生毕业。历任湖北美术学院教授、副院长，华南师范大学美术研究所所长。现任首都师范大学美术系教授、硕士研究生导师，首都师范大学现代美术研究所所长，华南师范大学兼职教授，中国油画学会副主席，中国美术家协会理事、油画艺术委员会会员。
Shang Yang was born in Hubei Province in 1942. He graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in 1965 and then completed his master's degree in 1981. Shang was Vice Dean and professor at Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, and Director of Fine Arts Research Institute, Southeast China Normal University. Currently Shang is professor and postgraduate supervisor at Fine Arts College of Capital Normal University, Vice President of China Oil Painting Society, etc.
