Circa 1200-1300 AD, Possibly Syria or Persia Heavy copper rectangular paper weight with fluted head. Highlighted decoration with floral or wave motifs. Possibly used when reading the Quran as a pointer or book weight to hold open manuscripts. Size: L:158mm / W:40mm; 440g Provenance: Private London collection ( B.A); formerly acquired in the 1970s from John Lees collection.
