A Rare Large Chinese Yaozhou Carved 'Crane' Celadon Bowl11th-12th CenturyThe carved bowl rising from a short foot; the exterior sides with twelve carved concentric rings rising in a soft curve to the rounded everted rim; the interior of the bowl has a large carved round cavetto in which a crane in full flight is surrounded by simple floral swirls; surrounding the cavetto is a continuous swirling band of a floral design that stops at a carved circular line just below the rounded rim, the bowl covered inside and out with a glaze of slightly olive tone. Diameter 10 inches.
