A Rare Chinese Junyao Tripod CenserNorthern Song-Jin DynastyThe compressed globular body raised on three cabriole legs; the tall cylindrical slightly tapering neck rises to the everted, dished rim where the glaze continues down into the top of the body, two molded lines around the body where the glaze has also pooled, the censer covered overall with a sky-blue glaze that shows deep brownish-red crackle on the dished rim and areas of the body, the overall glaze thinning on the burnt edges of the rim and tops of the legs. Height 4 1/4 inches. Note:See a similar censer from the same period which is smaller in height and diameter but has "a tall cylindrical neck that rises to the everted, dished rim", Christies New York 16 March 2017, lot 1148 (Realized price USD 367,500).
