A Rare Chinese Black, Russet and Blue Glazed Double Gourd VaseYuan-Ming DynastyThe two-tiered bulbous body first rising from a flat foot to its flat top, then the second tier attaching to the first one with a pear-shaped body rising from a short straight foot to a short reducing neck and stopping at the mouth rim. The entire body is covered in a black and russet glaze infused with streaks of blue-green glaze, the glazes pooling nicely at the mouth and foot rim to expose the fine white clay, the concave base with a crackled white glaze.
