The watch is an absolute rarity for Glashütte collectors. Only 2 pocket watches with a 24h dial were made at the German Watchmaking School in Glashütte. The watchmaker Emil Reichard from Wesermünde attended the German Watchmaking School in Glashütte from 1926 to 1929. His large talent was obvious from the start, so that he was awarded a tuition fee exemption by the Georg Jacob Jubilee Foundation's in 1928 - a great honour, 'it is only awarded to well qualified students or members who are entitled to be valuable forces for the watchmaking branch'. On the original graduation certificate with very good grades are the signatures of the large Glashütte teachers Helwig, Giebel and Rommershausen. Regarding the practical work, it states: 'Apart from the usual course work, he made the following from the raw materials himself: 1 Lever escapement model No. 3439, [...], 1 Glashütte lever watch No. 3492 [...], 1 Table chronometer No. 3605, size 53 mm with two-spring barrel for motion and escapement.'
