此件以煤晶石为材，质地细腻润泽，肌理黝黑，通体一色，色泽油亮似漆，包浆古穆。珠上碾琢双瑞兽，铜制双目，神态自若，五官刻画具体，以简单线条区分身体部位，造形生动，古意盎然。中有一孔，可供穿系佩挂。煤晶石是一种源于压缩木头的有机材料，容易抛光，常泛着一种黑色石头的光泽，然用煤晶石来制作瑞兽摆件，则比较少见。整体光泽极强，工艺古拙，线条流畅，煤精在世界上十分罕见，价值极高。
