A PAIR OF CARVED ELM WOOD CHAIRS18th centuryEach richly decorated with an out-scrolling rail and with delicate side scrolls, the central splat divided in three panels, the top with a lotus carving, the centre with a scholar holding a whisk and a lady with a fan, the bottom with a pierced lotus motif, the rectangular seat above a central pierced apron, with squared legs joined by stepped stretchers.93.5cm (36 3/4in) high x 50cm (19 5/8in) wide x 38.2cm (15in) deep (2).For further information on this lot please visit theCondition Report: General rub and wear, discoloration, surface scratches, small dents and natural openings of the wood.
