A PAIR OF LACQUERED SAKE BOTTLES AND A CARVED MING STYLE LACQUER TRAY19th centuryThe oviform sake bottles with waisted necks decorated inhiramaki-e gold with birds amongst flowering peonies on black grounds, the interiors covered with red lacquer, one with a cover; together with a rectangular cinnabar tray carved in deep relief with a phoenix amongst dense flowering peonies issuing from rockwork.The tray 42.2cm (16 5/8in) long (4).For further information on this lot please visit theCondition Report: One of the sake bottle with a large missing to the mouth, approx. 2.3cm wide, and other small chips.
