A pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose ‘Wu Shuang Pu’ vases, mid-19th century, each painted with characters from Wu Shuang Pu accompanied by inscriptions and red seal marks, the necks decorated with mythical beasts, bound texts and inscriptions, with moulded beast mask ring handles to the exteriors, 29.9cm high (2)十九世紀中期 粉彩無雙譜人物圖方瓶一對Note: The Wu Shuang Pu 無雙譜 ('Table of Peerless Heroes') is a series of woodblock prints created by Jin Guliang ca. 1670. The album contains forty illustrations of forty famous historical figures from the Han dynasty to the Song dynasty, described by Jin as being 'peerless'.c.f.
