A carved boxwood figure of Christ's flagellation; Christ shown wearing a loincloth secured with a knotted cord, his head thrown back, hands bound by similar cord to a spike driven into the top of a waisted column; crown with radiating spikes placed on the top of the head; the face downcast with heavy-lidded eyes, trimmed beard, luxuriant wavy hair; mounting peg to underside of column. 1 kg, 28.5 cm high (11 1/4 in.").
