A Rare Gold Turquoise-Inlaid Gilt Silver Bronze Vessel, Warring StatesWith globular body, curved neck and slightly splayed foot ring, set at the shoulder with a pair of beast-mask handles, each suspending a loose ring, the circular domed cover with three small snake-shaped knobs, the neck decorated with triangular patterns inlaid with turquoise, the exterior finley inlaid in gold with several registers, as frieze of confronting pairs of long-tailed birds, confronting sinuous dragons with figures riding their body, confronting mythical birds with coiling tails, the domed cover with further pairs of birds and mythical beast divided by three sections and embellished with turquoise and agate, the vessel and cover with areas of malachite encrustation. Dimension: (35cm) High, (11.5cm) Rim Diameter, (12.8cm) Bottom Diameter. PROVENANCE: Property of a prestigous doctor couple, residing in Long Island, New York, who have established an extensive Asian collection over the past 50 years.
