A blue and white teapot, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, A globular teapot decorated with valuables and Buddhist emblems. Marked with a six character Jiajing mark but of Kangxi period. L 16,5 cm, H 11,5 cm, The lid has slight crazing along the edge and a small chip to the underside inner rim. No hairlines or restoration. A few frits and glaze imperfections (manufacturing flaws). A discoloured rim frit to end of spout. From a Dutch collection. Bought from Sotheby s Amsterdam (Mak van Waay), on May 21st. 1981.
