An iron red five-clawed dragon charger, Guangxu period (1875–1908), China, Two dragons chasing a flaming pearl, executed in iron red with white, gilt and green enamel highlights. Marked in overglaze iron red with a six character Guangxu mark and of the period. D 34 cm, Good condition. A small bruise on the unglazed standing rim and a small glaze flaw on the front of the dish (see close-up photos). No chips or hairlines and no restoration. Some wear from age and use.
