A Painted ’Cizhou’ ’figural’ Vase The ovoid body supported on a flat circular base, the tall sides rising to a wide shoulder and short straight neck, covered overall in an ivory glaze and fluidly painted in dark-chocolate-brown and black with two quatrefoil panels, one containing a robed figure beneath a leafy tree, the other an elegant, long-legged bird, all below a border of floral decoration to the sloping shoulder and above stylised waves around the base, the base in a dark brown glaze. Period: Yuan (1271‑1368). Height: 19 cm.
