A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN ‘BIRD’ JAR CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY, YONGZHENG STYLE It rests on an unglazed ring foot and has an elongated globular body surmounted by a waisted neck with an everted rim. It is finely painted in famille rose enamels with reserved medallions, one with three roosters on rocks amidst chrysanthemum and peony flowers, another one with two sparrows perched on a branch of peonies. Apart from the reserved medallions, the jar is covered with a lozenge pattern. The round shoulder is also adorned with ruyi as well as flowers. There are several seals, possibly signatures of artists, one possibly reading ‘佪’ or ‘徊’.
