鬲形之器，古来有之，石器时代有陶鬲，商周时期有青铜鬲，鬲式炉即为此形制，古有分裆鬲，索耳鬲。而后改制，合裆为腹，去耳平口，早在宋、明时期即为流行炉式之一，为历代文人雅士所爱。口沿宽平，折沿束颈，鼓腹下收，顺势出三足，矮而粗壮，足底平阔，置地有力，整器线条凝练，颇有明炉遗风，浑厚沉着，中正大气。通体光素，色近熟栗，色泽统一，细润沉着，莹润如釉。铜质精纯，入手沉坠，鬲式炉本为礼器，殿堂则永固社稷，列宗庙能礼承天道，一般不置于书房案头，而是陈列于厅堂、佛堂等居中的重要位置居。拍品造型古雅沉稳，不失三代礼器之韵，彰显出清代铜炉雍容华贵之气象，整体器型与清早期官窑风格极为类似。
