East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty to early Republic Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine glazed porcelain vase bearing fine blue decorations atop the soft white ground. The vessel exhibits an inverted piriform body with a rounded shoulder, a pair of upturned handles flanking the cylindrical neck, and a squat rim. The main body boasts broad flowers and leafy vines coursing across its surfaces, cloud-filled boxes along the lower body, curvilinear motifs around the shoulder, and tall leaves that circle around the neck.
