Native American / First Nations, Pacific Northwest Coast, United States or Canada, Tlingit or Haida, ca. mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden mask like visage of a person's face in the formline style, with a labret set into the lower lip. The chin rests on an integral pedestal block, with a perforation drilled through with a second opening on the center top, perhaps for mounting as a larger piece or element of another sculpture representing a shaman or welcome figure.
