以端溪水坑仔石随形雕琢，因材施艺，开淌池，石色灰紫，石质温润幼嫩，下发墨流利。佳材难得，雕工质朴，堪称案头雅物。配红木砚盒。
乔光烈（？～1765），字敬亭，号润斋，上海人。乾隆丁巳进士，历任湖南巡抚、甘肃布政使、贵州巡抚等。
