AN UNUSUAL CARVED CELADON-GLAZED CARVED PEAR-SHAPED VASE, YUHUCHUNPING18TH CENTURYImitating Longquan celadon, the swelling body is finely carved with a broad band of leafy, peony scroll between borders of ruyi heads above and upright leaf tips below. The neck and shoulder are encircled by bands of classic scroll, key fret and petal lappets below the trumpet-shaped mouth. The vase is covered overall with a glaze of olive-green color, and the foot and seven 'faux' spur marks on the base are covered with a brown dressing.12 1/2 in. (31.7 cm.) high
