此天鸡摆件白玉圆雕，玉质白嫩，宛如凝脂，其身敦厚圆润，双翅贴身，双翼刻画细致，长尾下垂内卷而起，双足挺立，极具神态，冠至背部雕一活链，腹部又装饰活环铃铛，皆玲珑舒展，气韵生动。此件天鸡不仅取材精良，雕琢技术更是精湛，刀法娴熟，造型新颖独特，尤以打磨极为精细，圆润藏锋，玉质温润之特性尽显。其既可为书斋案头陈设之器，又可作盈手可握之美器，洵为清代乾隆玉雕精工之作。天鸡为吉祥之瑞兽，既驱邪纳福，也是英雄勇武的象征。传说天鸡为神鸡，居于东南桃都山，又传居东海岱舆山扶桑树上，率天下之鸡报晓。
