**Originally Listed At $500** East Asia, China, Wei Dynasty, ca. 386 to 535 CE. A mold-formed ceramic tomb attendant in the form of a standing soldier or guardian figure, wearing wide leg pants, tunic, and crested cap. He holds both arms in front of his abdomen- holding a shield in his left hand and his right is clenched with a socket that once held a weapon. His face has a comically angry expression - lips in an exaggerated pout, and furrowed brows. This tomb attendant reflets the tumultuous time and growing threats of invasion from neighboring kingdoms, and the need for protection not only for the living but in the afterlife. Size: 2.5" L x 2" W x 8.75" H (6.4 cm x 5.1 cm x 22.2 cm) Provenance: private Masontown, Pennsylvania, USA, collection, acquired in the 1990s All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. We ship worldwide and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience. #170131品相报告: Earthen and mineral deposits throughout and softening to finer details, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall form.
