**Originally Listed At $1200** Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 500 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished portrait vessel depicting the finely detailed visage of a youthful lord. The masculine countenance presents almond-shaped eyes with elongated canthi beneath a gently furrowed brow, a prominent nose with flared nostrils, thin lips, and tapered cheeks above a pointed chin. A headband studded with medallions rests low on his forehead and is secured via a chin strap tied beneath the chin. Each ear is ornamented with a massive circular earspool bearing spherical nodules around the periphery, and his incised coiffure is swept back behind his head and down almost to the nape of his neck.
