Silk with multi-colored silk, with woven application borders, inside with silk lining, five rose quartz buttons and fabric loops at the front. China, late Qing dynasty

This dark pink Changyi robe shows delicate embroidery with colorful butterflies and flowers. At the hems woven borders are applied and joined by an embroidered band featuring bats, symbols, endless knots and symbolist flowers. The sleeves can be folded back, revealing the bright yellow inside with intricate embroidery there as well.

Condition: Very few open stitches or loose threads, some smaller stains. Background silk shows fading. Inside lining is worn and shows small holes and tears
