A Timurid blue and white pottery dish, Iran, probably Tabriz, 15th century, with narrow slightly sloping rim on short foot, the off-white interior with four peonies surrounding a central spikey leaf, further spiky leaves and scrolling tendrils, the cavetto with large roundel flowerheads alternating with smaller ones, the rim with scrolling designs, the exterior with sketchily drawn simple motifs, intact, an old inventory number appears to the base in white paint "2707", 33.7cm. diam. This dish is remarkably similar to an example in the Al-Sabah collection, Kuwait, inv. no. LNS 762C, which is attributed by Watson to Tabriz (Watson 2004, p.455). A dish comparable in design was offered at Sotheby's, 19 October 2016, lot 238. Crackling to glaze throughout, crack running around the interior base well and another extending over to rim
