水洗为白玉雕琢，玉种温润细腻，光气纯熟，通体光洁匀净，料色精白如荔枝果肉。整体运用圆雕掏膛镂空製作，主体作直边平沿的瓜果形，通身以镂空圆雕、高浮雕的缠枝花卉装点，蝴蝶翩翩起舞，两只小猫攀爬嬉戏在枝杈之中，四肢纤细有度，圆润饱满，尾巴长卷贴于臀侧。整体造型生动形象，栩栩如生，线条流畅优美，风格风趣可爱。传统题材中猫蝶寓意耄耋，代表长寿如意。语出《汉·曹操·对酒歌》：“人耄耋，皆得以寿终。恩泽广及草木昆虫”，十分适合收藏作为文房陈设装点。
